Black Friday-Blog til You Drop

Oh yeah. There are no lines. No camping out all night in the cold. No crowds. Yes, it's Black Friday and we're celebrating with a Blog Hop Giveaway. Since I'm on the road, speeding back to cold dreary Michigan. I so hate to leave the sunshine. Man, even the orange juice tastes better down here.

So check this out, me and about ten other Marketing for Romance Writers Authors have got together and we're giving away some fab gifts.

Me. I've got a $15 GC with a lucky commenters name on it. Oh yeah. That's $15 to a retailer of your choice. Amazon, All Romance eBooks or ITunes. Heck if you want the card to Wal-Mart or Target, Best Buy or Victoria's Secret I'll make that happen too. Just let me know.

What do you have to do? Leave a comment or rather answer this question. What's your biggest pet peeve about shopping on Black Friday? and for those that don't brave the lines or the crowds. Do you Internet shop on Black Friday, why or why not?

Good Luck!
Make sure to visit the rest on the hop for more fab prizes!
That's right Merry Christmas to me. :-D

My biggest peeve is that they took the fun out of this one by starting Thanksgiving night and now everything will be gone for us that just want to look around. Staying home today, lol. But really my biggest peeve is when people try to mow you down while you are just looking.

I agree with Kimmy that it is nonsense to start "Black Friday" on Thursday. I am not doing any shopping whatsoever this weekend; this year, I am giving away books by my favorite authors, CD's by my favorite musicians, and handcrafted jewelry I make myself. Thanks for the giveaway!

My biggest pet peeve is that people just seem to have lost all the common sense they normally have. I mean, it's not like the world will end if you don't get what you want at the sale price. Please people be grownups not spoiled little children...LOL

On our way in last night. We saw a line of cars, not sure which state we were in at the time, but the right hand lane of the freeway had a line of cars about a mile long waiting to do shopping. Totally insane.

Cold, dreary Michigan...ahhhhh HOME! LOL I am a Michigan girl transplant in California and even though I don't miss shoveling that snow, I sure do miss that first big storm. At night when it's all quiet outside and the snow simply sparkles. Beautiful! I haven't shopped on Black Friday for years. It's basically an extreme sport anymore! I prefer to shop a little bit here and there and get things along the way. But I am going out today to the movies so I will still have to brave the traffic nightmare!

I'm always working at our family business on Black Friday & I'm glad because this way I'm not tempted to brave the obscene traffic. The horror stories my girlfriend tells about her Black Friday adventures are enough excitement for me. I might do a little online shopping.

I hate it when I HAVE to shop on Black Friday because I didn't plan well enough in advance. So far today I've been catching up on blog posts and eps of Grey's Anatomy via Netflix. Love your website!

My biggest pet peeve about Black Friday is the loss of common sense and decency...the stories you hear, about people being trampled and pepper sprayed and etc are so very sad. I usually stay home in the peace and quiet and relax from the day before! Never did a blog hop on BF before - fun!

Oh you really shouldn't ask this question.lol

Last year Walmart had laptops on there special 5 a.m Black Friday sale. My son was in college and our Desktop died and I was using his laptop for my college classes. So I had to face the crowd to try and get the laptop.
I got to the store around 1a.m. and there was about 12 other people there we all got to talking and I brought a book to read. We all got in line and right before the time of the sale I looked back and there must have been over two hundred people there. Where when it came time for the sale the idiot managers said to make a new line and follow them. I was pushed into a shelf my finger smashed by another persons cart and I was crying because I was so pissed. I said screw this they only had 40 computers at the price they were listed for and by the time I got into the new line they had already cut the people off.
So I just said I'm going home. Well there was another laptop on sale for 40 dollars more so on my way out I happen to go by the line for that. Not hardly anybody in line for that one. Needless to say I went to that line I got a coupon for the laptop but right before it was time to get them the manager came out and said that they sent them the wrong computers. However we were getting a 600 dollar laptop for 199.00. I said to myself hell yeah! I was patient and got beat up in line and wound up getting a better computer than I was after.

I hate Black Friday in the stores because people don't know how to act like they have sense.

So now I mostly shop online for I'm not going through that crap again.

Hi Lynn (Joanna waving)

I stay home and eat leftovers--and bloghop! No desire or energy to go out. (One can always shop online, too.)

My Black Friday stories are at my blog: (www.joannaaislinn.wordpress.com).

Feel free to visit and leave you story later :)

Thanks for the opportunity and have a wonderful weekend!

I don't care to brave the crowds on Black Friday--it's awfully scary! And this makes the season all about the commercialism and the acquiring of stuff, which I don't care for either. The holidays are for spending time with people you love and for showing them you care.

Um... sliding off the soapbox now ;)

To start, Hello to All & I hope Everyone had a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving.
My biggest pet peeve about shopping on Black Friday is that I worked Retail for 16 years, the last 10 as a Retail Security Manager & I just could NOT believe all the craziness & total lack of respect for others that I seen in those years. The "few" have to ruin it for the "many". In those 16 years I found that these "few" with no decency for others also have no respect for themselves to be acting out like they do when they hear that word, "SALE". In my opinion, there is no item worth subjecting myself to that kind of rudeness of the "few" with their tunnel vision, "SALE, SALE, SALE"! It seems THAT "Black Friday Dirty Word" fogs the minds of some, forgetting to treat people with kindness & respect, taking the joy out of finding nice things to get for those important to Us, not just thinking of oursleves. Ok I'm off my Soapbox now. LOL
I hope Everyone had an enjoying Friday, reading lol & shopping online. :)
Wishing Everyone the Best of Health and a Safe & Happy Holiday Season,

We don't have a black Friday here in NZ, but the boxing day sales are chaos. I hate all the pushing & shoving and trying to find a parking space.

I have shopped on Good Friday in the past when I stood in line for gift cards or free ornaments but was not interested this year. So far have only purchased books for myself online this year.
